BROWSING: Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality

Augmented reality technology is one of the technology effects in the modern world, which is to place information such as sound, image and text on a world that is visible to us. Augmented reality is an image of the interactive mode of Iron Man films or minority reports.

Augmented reality refers to an interactive view of the user and is physically live that adds elements to the real world around people. The augmented reality can be used in training, computer games and software. The elements that are added are compiled by computer and by analyzing user information in audio, video, graphics or GPS data.

The difference between the added reality and the virtual reality is very evident. Virtual reality is an environment created by the computer to interact with and interact with it, but in the augmented reality (AR), instead of replacing something with the real world, we add elements to the surrounding environment.

Everything we know about Augmented Reality Technology (AR)

Augmented reality is introduced in today's world as a technology of the future, but it's interesting to note that in the past years there have been some forms of it around humans. For example, in many fighter planes that even belonged to the 1990s, messages were displayed that contained information about the altitude, direction and speed of the aircraft. Only a few years later, using these messages, they could identify goals that were at an angle of view.

Over the past decade, companies and laboratories have produced devices that provide augmented reality technology. In 2009, the MIT Department of Fluid Interface, the Media Lab, developed a device called SixthSense.

The device, which is a combination of camera, a small projector, smartphone and mirror, is hanged by a rope from the neck and placed around the user's chest. Four sensors on the user's fingers can be used to manipulate the image produced by the projector.

Google launched Google Glass in 2013, making it an augmented reality to a wearable gadget (glasses in this case). The function of this device is that the images, videos and sounds on the user's lens display are displayed by a small projector, and can be controlled by voice command. Google glasses were picked up by the end of December 2015.

In the solution to this, the most visible emergence of augmented reality technology in people's lives can be seen on smartphones and tablets. For example, an app called Star Walk allows users to view the stars and planets in the image by placing their smartphone in the sky.

Another app called Layar uses GPS and the smartphone to collect information in the privacy of the user's environment. Then, using this information, it will show you the nearest restaurants, stores, and other points of interest.

Some other mobile apps and tablets work with other things. Disney Research has developed an app called AR coloring book. First you need to paint a Disney character on the book and then run the app. This app accesses the camera and uses it to recognize which character you have stained and using the software to rebuild that character in a 3D image on the screen.

One of the most popular uses of Augmented Reality (AR) has been in games like Pokémon Go. The Augmented Reality game has peaked in 2016 at over 100 million users and created a global passion. According to Forbes magazine, this brought a $ 2 billion acquisition to its developers.

The game allowed users to view pokemon characters from the city of their place of residence. The goal of the game was to kill these monster characters and use them to fight others in augmented reality clubs.

In 2018, another game called "Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery" made a lot of noise as a mobile augmented reality game. The game allowed its users to see the Hogwarts world around them, use spells and potions and learn Hogwarts teachers. The game has been downloaded over 10 million times worldwide, according to Google Play.

The game of pokemon is a tribute to Augmented Reality technology. Players have to search the characters around the game around their place of residence. Pokemon Gu received 6.2 points out of 10 from GimaSpot, and so far more than 100 million times have been received from Google Play.

The development of holograms is a step forward in the field of reality technology. If you remember the Princess Lia hologram in the Star Wars series, you know that the hologram can display a 3D image of all angles in a crowd.

Lei Wang, a researcher and Ph.D. student at the ANU Physics and Engineering Research Center, said:

Research on holography plays an important role in the development of future displays and devices of augmented reality. In addition, today we work on other functions such as lightweight, ultra-lightweight devices for cameras and satellites.

What will be the future of Augmented Reality Technology?

Sure smartphones and tablets will not be the only platform for augmented reality. Researchers investigate AR performance in compact lenses
